Batley Grammar School became a Single Academy Trust (SAT) when becoming a Free School in September 2011 from having been a fee paying independent school.
One of the strengths of Batley Grammar School, over many years, has been in the ability of those governing and leading the school to consider the external factors that may impact upon the school and to look ahead and prepare for anticipated changes.
As they consider the educational landscape over the next five to ten years, providing the best possible educational experience for local children, the Trustees (Governors) together with the Executive Principal, MAT Development and Transition, are currently exploring the opportunities of operating as part of a Multi Academy Trust.
How can I find out more about MATs?
There is more information about MAT academies on the Department for Education (DfE) website and we will add this link to the MAT section of our school website: http://www.education.gov.uk/academies
