Girls U13 Football

A huge congratulations to the U13 Girls’ Football team who played their second round match in the ESFA tournament on Tuesday 10 October. This is the first girls’ team that Batley Grammar has entered into the English Schools’ Football Association tournament. The girls played an excellent team from Cardinal Heenan and despite a loss overall, the students showed fantastic grit and resilience throughout. Player of the match was given to Keira Bowman who showed not only great skill throughout, but was a real source of encouragement for the rest of the team. We are very much looking forward to our next fixture against Spen Valley High School and also look forward to watching the girls’ football team grow over the next half term!

Many congratulations also to Shelby Gibbons our recently appointed captain of the U13 girls’ football team. She is the first girls’ captain that we have ever had at Batley Grammar School and she made a superb start in her role during our autumn fixtures. Shelby never fails to give her all to training and matches and has developed a great ethos within the team.  Thank you for all of your hard work so far Shelby!
