Welcome to Batley Grammar School

At Batley Grammar School we aim to identify, encourage and develop the talents and qualities of each pupil to their full potential and help to prepare them for adult life as confident, independent and respectful members of a caring multicultural society.

We pride ourselves on providing a stimulating learning environment that is full of opportunity and caters for the needs of all children and young people from Foundation Stage through to A Level.

We are a caring school of 700 pupils, with a real family atmosphere and a commitment to giving every boy and girl the individual attention they need to thrive. Our dedicated staff work closely with pupils and parents to maintain the highest quality education in a lively, happy environment which breeds success.

Each individual is encouraged to make a purposeful contribution to our strong learning community, both in the classroom and in a comprehensive range of extracurricular activities.

While we are proud of our 400-year history, we have also learned from it and evolved to provide an education fit for the 21st century. We blend the best of traditional values with modern facilities and approaches to provide an excellent model of teaching and learning within a philosophy of calm professional purpose.

Our ‘Open Door’ policy means we are happy to receive visitors at any time. I look forward to extending a warm welcome to you and your family and to showing you our exceptional school in action.
